
Paolo Glisenti is the Section Commissioner General appointed by the Italian
Government with the responsibility for planning and organizing the participation of
Italy in Expo 2020 Dubai.
Previously, as founder and CEO of PGConsultants, a consulting firm based in Rome
and Milan that offered advisory services on communication strategies, mega events,
brand building and strategic marketing, he developed, since 2009, a portfolio of senior
managerial and consulting roles with leading international organizations and
institutions including the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, the
City of Milan (bid and planning for Expo 2015), the City of Sao Paulo (bid project for
Expo 2020), the City of Rome (bid project for 2020 Olympics and Paralympics
Games), Dubai (Autodrome Project), SEA Milan Airport (new on-line services) and
others.
Between 1998 and 2008 he held a variety of leadership roles in the sphere of
communication and public affairs including Executive Vice President of News
Corporation Europe, Director of Communication at BNL Group, Director of Policy &
Public Affairs for the City of Milan, Secretary General of Italian bidding Committee
for Expo 2015.
Paolo Glisenti has been a member of the board of directors of publicly traded
companies in Italy, France, Great Britain and USA active in the media,
telecommunication, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.
He trained as a journalist working for 15 years in Italian media organizations and has
lived for long periods of time in London and New York. He has written extensively on
communication and economic issues, publishing three books to date and authoring
numerous editorials, radio and TV programs.
He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by the President and the
Prime Minister of Italy for the services rendered in successfully heading Italy’s bid
campaign to host Expo 2015.
