Michele Loi

A political philosopher by training, he worked in bioethics before becoming a digital ethicist. Michele was an ethics consultant for the World Health Organization and is currently a digital ethics Senior Researcher at the University of Zurich. He is personally interested in bringing insights from ethics and political philosophy to bear on big data, proposing more ethical forms of institutional organization, firm behavior, and legal-political arrangements concerning data. His most recent research interest concerns algorithmic fairness and bias, especially the fairness of decisions based on statistical predictions.
