Stefano Moni, Italy, Central Directorate of Criminal Police - Department of Public Security. He holds a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering from University of Rome "La Sapienza" and a Degree in Sociological Sciences from University of Teramo. Currently, he is Director of the Data Protection Office at the Central Directorate of Criminal Police, the first case in Italy of Data Protection Office in the police forces and among the first in the public sector. He is certified “Data protection officer” at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), also as Lead Auditor for Information Security Management Systems and for Quality Management Systems. He’s the point of contact with the Italian Data Protection Authority and with the European Commission for matters related to data protection in law enforcement. He teaches data protection in law enforcement at the Senior National Police Academy and taught also at Lumsa University Master in Intelligence, investigation & security, at the Security Awareness Master of Cagliari University and SIOI (Italian Society for International Organization). He is the Italian delegate to the INTERPOL Committee for the revision of the Rules for the Processing of Data (RPDs), as well as to the Europol Data Protection Expert Network and the most recent police DPO Network of the European Commission in Brussels. He designed the Cyber Security Operations Center of the directorate, which has been awarded by the European Innovation Council and it is now considered a best practice at European level.
