Simone Fortin

An expert in cybersecurity strategy and technology, Fortin is currently the Group Chief Information Security Officer for MSC Cruise Division. He leads the strategic corporate direction for both ashore and onboard cybersecurity initiatives and is responsible for the Cybersecurity Department. He collaborates with key maritime organizations and European agencies to develop and adopt cybersecurity policies in the maritime sector.
Fortin brings over 20 years of extensive expertise in international cybersecurity, gained through consulting for some of the world's most renowned cybersecurity companies. He has worked with major clients across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in various industry sectors.
Fortin holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Padua; an Executive Master of Business Administration from Hult Business School, and a master’s degree in security information management from the Polytechnic University of Milan. Fortin was also an executive-in-residence fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. He is currently attending an Advanced Master program in Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Data Management at Maastricht University’s Faculty of Law.
