Chief Sustainability Officer, Leonardo, Italy

Raffaella Luglini is Chief Sustainability Officer at Leonardo the leading global industrial group that builds technological capabilities in Aerospace, Defence & Security. In her position she is responsible for defining the Group’s sustainability strategy and governance as well as its climate strategy and its social impact and for promoting the integration of sustainability into the whole value chain Under her leadership, Leonardo received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term GHG emission reduction targets. Raffaella started in Leonardo as Investor Relations Officer and in 2014 was appointed Head of Investor Relations and Sustainable Responsible Investors (SRI). In this role, she was responsible for relations with Equity and Fixed Income investors and with Credit Rating Agencies, reporting directly to the CEO. Among her previous positions, she was Chief Stakeholder Officer of Leonardo, with responsibility on External/Internal Communication, Media & Digital and Italian Public Affairs and SVP External and Institutional Relations at Telespazio (Leonardo's Satellite Service company), where she handled the relations with international institutional bodies (EU, UN, NATO), the Italian Government and Parliament, the Italian consular-diplomatic network abroad and accredited Embassies in Italy, as well as the Communication. Since 2017 Raffaella is Chairman of Ansaldo Foundation and from 2019 to 2022 she was General Manager of Leonardo Foundation. In July 2024 she was appointed Member of the Supervisory Board of HENSOLDT AG a German company in the Defence industry with a leading position in Europe and a global reach, in which Leonardo is a shareholder alongside the German government. She gained significant experience in financial and institutional communication, ESG/sustainability, shareholder activism, stakeholder engagement, including sovereign funds. Before joining Leonardo, she founded doyoo.com (2000), European internet start-up headquartered in Germany, as CFO of the Italian branch she coordinated several rounds of financing by large European VC. Previously Raffaella worked at Eni as IR Officer, where she contributed to the privatisation of the Oil&Gas state-owned company and worked at JP Morgan NYC on behalf of Eni. She holds a degree in Economics and Finance and an MBA. Chartered Accountant and Auditor.
