Michele Sirimarco

Enlisted in 1980 as a Cadet Officer at the Infantry School of Cesano, he was appointed Second Lieutenant on April 14, 1981, and after completing the Course at the Carabinieri Officer School in Rome, he was assigned to the Carabinieri Non-Commissioned Officers School in Velletri as Platoon Commander; In 1984, he attended the 18th Applied Course and was assigned to command the Operational Unit and RMB of the Monza Company (MI); He holds a degree in Law from the "La Sapienza" University of Rome and a degree in Security Sciences from the University of Rome III at Tor Vergata. He also obtained a Master’s in Strategic Sciences from the University of Turin; In 1986, he earned the military pilot license at the AM Helicopter Flight School in Frosinone and, with the acquired specialization, was employed as Head of Operations Section, first at the 3rd Carabinieri Helicopter Unit in Bolzano and later at the 2nd NEC in Bergamo; In 1989, he was assigned to command the 10th Carabinieri Helicopter Unit in Olbia-Venafiorita, a post he held until 1992; He commanded the Rho Carabinieri Company in 1984, the Montecatini Terme Company from 1992 to 1995, and the Palermo-San Lorenzo Company from 1995 to 1999; In 1999, as a Major, he was transferred to the General Command Headquarters of the Carabinieri, with the role of Head of the Organization Section until 2005; From 2005 to 2007, as a Lieutenant Colonel, he was assigned to command the Monreale Territorial Unit (PA), and upon promotion to Colonel in 2007, he attended the 23rd Advanced Training Course at the Police Forces Improvement School; From September 29, 2008, to September 20, 2011, he was the Provincial Commander of Cagliari; In September 2011, he was transferred again to the General Command with the role of Head of the Logistics Office; From 2012 to 2015, he was the Commander of the Carabinieri Aircraft Unit in Pratica di Mare, and from 2015 to 2018, he commanded the "Abruzzo and Molise" Carabinieri Legion; In 2018, he was appointed Commander of the Carabinieri Cadet Legion, and from 2021, promoted to Major General, he has served as Chief of Staff of the Carabinieri Forestry, Environmental, and Agri-Food Units Command, formed by integrating the State Forestry Corps into the Carabinieri. In the same role, in June 2023, he was appointed Special Commissioner for the Development of Defense Renewable Energies by the Minister of Defense; He has earned the Paratrooper License and the Civil Airplane Pilot License, as well as qualifications as a "Flight Safety Officer" and "Flight and Specialty Instructor"; At the Civitavecchia War School, he obtained the qualification of Legal Advisor for military operations abroad; He has been married since 1989 to Sabrina Borsatti and has three children: Francesco, Ario, and Sveva, aged 34, 27, and 18, respectively; He has been awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Long Command and the Gold Medal for Merit in Long Aerial Navigation, and he holds the title of Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
