Governor, National Cybersecurity Authority (NCSA) of Greece, Greece
Michail Bletsas serves as Governor of Greece's National Cybersecurity Authority, a position he has held since April 2024, while also serving as Director of Computing and Research Scientist at the MIT Media Lab.
Bletsas was a core member of the "One Laptop per Child" initiative, which developed the award-winning XO laptop. His research focuses on network security, disinformation, wireless networks, and machine learning infrastructure. Bletsas has advised governments on technology policy and served as an expert to senior policymakers and government officials.
In April 2024, Bletsas became the first Governor of Greece's National Cybersecurity Authority, leading the country's national cyber defense and resilience efforts. Concurrently, he continues his work at the MIT Media Lab as Director of Computing and Research Scientist.
Bletsas holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Boston University.
