Director, National Cyber Security Center under MOD, Lithuania
Antanas Aleknavičius is the Director of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) of Lithuania. Before assuming the role of Director, he as Deputy Director of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), where he was responsible for cyber resilience enhancement initiatives and coordination of cyber incident management.
With extensive experience as a legal professional, Aleknavičius also played an active role in transposing the EU NIS2 Directive into national legislation and drafting key implementing documents.
Prior to joining the NCSC, Aleknavičius spent more than a decade at the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania, where he led the Cybersecurity and IT Policy Group and headed a department within the Legal Department responsible for cybersecurity and IT-related legal matters.
The NCSC is Lithuania’s main cybersecurity institution, responsible for the unified management of cyber incidents, as well as monitoring and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity requirements and accrediting information systems.
