Co-General Manager, Leonardo, Italy
Lorenzo Mariani was appointed Co-General Manager of Leonardo S.p.A. on June 1, 2023. From September 2020 to May 2023, he served as Executive Group Director of Sales and Business Development at MBDA and Managing Director of MBDA Italia. Mariani first worked at MBDA from 2002 to 2005 as Head of Product Strategy.
Before his recent role at MBDA, Mariani held several key positions at Leonardo (formerly Finmeccanica). From October 2017, he served as Chief Commercial Officer and, from May 2018, as Chief Executive Officer of Leonardo International, overseeing its subsidiaries. He was Managing Director of the Land & Naval Defence Electronics Division at Leonardo from January 2016 to September 2017, a role he previously held at SELEX Electronic Systems after the company merged into Leonardo.
Mariani began his career at Alenia and AMS from 1992 to 2002, holding various roles, including radar systems analyst and sales manager. He earned an honors degree in electronic engineering in 1990 and served as an officer in the Italian Navy in 1991.
