Alberto Caponi is a telecommunications engineer with over a decade of experience in cybersecurity. After earning his Ph.D. in applied cryptography from the Microelectronics and Telecommunications Engineering School at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, he worked as a senior researcher and lecturer. Since 2019, Caponi has been with the Italian Space Agency (ASI), focusing on information security and cybersecurity within ASI's programs and projects. He also participates in international boards of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Union (EU). Currently, he heads the Security and Strategies Office in the Security and Information Technology Department at ASI.
