Deputy Director General, National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), Italy
Dr. Nunzia Ciardi has served as Deputy Director General of the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) since 2021, with her appointment renewed in September 2025.
With more than thirty years of experience in law enforcement, Dr. Ciardi previously served as a Senior Executive and Head of the Postal and Communications Police Service. In this role, she coordinated efforts to protect critical infrastructure and combat cybercrime, online child sexual abuse material, cyberterrorism, and cyber fraud.
She is a member of several scientific committees and observatories focusing on artificial intelligence and national security, and serves on the Board of the Women4Cyber Foundation, where she promotes the role of women in technology.
Dr. Ciardi is the author of the book Con lo smartphone usa la testa (2018) and has received several prestigious awards and recognitions, including the Marisa Bellisario Award (2023), the Roma Rose Award (2025), and recognition by Inspiring Fifty Italy (2021) as one of the most influential women in the technology sector.
