Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), City of Zürich, Switzerland
René Christian Gehlen has been serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the City of Zurich since 2017. René is responsible for the City of Zurich’s overall information security, addressing the complex needs of diverse municipal departments. Current priorities include strengthening cybersecurity through a dedicated Cyber Defense Center and boosting employee awareness across the organization. Prior to joining the City of Zurich, René held a similar position at an international financial services provider. Since early 2020, he has also served as chief expert for the Swiss Federal Diploma of Higher Education (EFA) Cyber Security Specialist (CSS), appointed by ICT Berufsbildung Switzerland.
