Dr. Ivano Gabrielli

Director, Postal Police Service, Italy

Ivano Gabrielli graduated with highest honors in Law and Political Science and holds a Master’s degree in Security Sciences and a Master’s degree in Homeland Security.

He joined the Postal and Communications Police in 2006. Initially assigned to the Postal and Communications Police Department in Genoa, he was transferred in 2009 to the Postal Police Service within the Department of Public Security.

In May 2012, he was appointed Head of the National Cybercrime Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CNAIPIC).

In July 2017, he was appointed Director of the Third Division of the Postal and Communications Police Service, coordinating the investigative activities of the National Cybercrime Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CNAIPIC), the Cyber Terrorism Section, and the Financial Cybercrime Section.

In January 2022, he was appointed Director of the Postal and Communications Police Service.

In July 2024, following his appointment as Senior Executive of the Italian State Police, he assumed the role of Director of the Postal Police and Cybersecurity Service, part of the newly established Central Directorate for Forensic Police and Cybersecurity, which also inherited the longstanding responsibilities of the Postal and Communications Police Service.
