Deputy Consul General & Executive Director, UK Department for Business and Trade in Italy
Serena has 20 years' experience in international business and diplomacy. With a university Degree in International Economics at the Political Science and Government University, Serena started her career working on peace and security projects for the Italian government. She also holds a level II Master in Diplomacy, a Master's degree in Intelligence and Geopolitics and an MBA in Business Management, Human Resources and Finance. She worked in the Global Challenge Section of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then as Economic Adviser at the Canadian Consulate in Italy. In the last 20 years, Serena has been working with the highest-level prime contractors in the Italian and UK markets to develop synergies and identify new trade opportunities for the British diplomatic mission in Italy. She has also organised initiatives aimed at promoting women in business. From 2012 to 2016 Serena has been Regional Coordinator for the business Defence & Security Campaign for Southern Europe. Since 2020 Serena is a qualified Coach and actively promotes the Coaching Culture across the DBT Europe Network. In April 2021 Serena was appointed Deputy Consul General and Executive Director of the Department for Business and Trade in Italy (DBT). Serena is passionate about networking and public speaking. She is a well-respected and known member of the business community and an advocate for the Anglo-Italian cooperation at international level.
