Director of Cybersecurity Division, LAZIOcrea, Italy
Ettore Sala is Director of the Cybersecurity Division at LAZIOcrea S.p.A., with 40 years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and cyber defense across the public sector, healthcare, and aerospace industries.
He holds an honors degree in Electronic Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, where he received the SIRI Award for best thesis in robotics, and an MBA from LUISS Business School. He spent more than 15 years leading international aerospace projects across Italy, Belgium, and France before moving into public administration.
Sala played a key role in launching the Policlinico Tor Vergata hospital as IT Director and contributed to the establishment of Lait S.p.A., the Lazio Region’s in-house IT company. At LAZIOcrea, he managed strategic areas including EU funds, civil protection and tourism information systems, and the development of the Regional Data Center and Private Cloud.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as CISO of the Lazio Region. Between 2023 and 2025, he led technological innovation at the Italian Ministry of Justice, defining the nationwide digital transformation strategy for judicial processes, and later served as Director General for Digital Infrastructure. Since 2026, he has led cybersecurity initiatives at LAZIOcrea, focusing on critical infrastructure protection and digital resilience.
