Before joining Leonardo in May 2020, Cavazzoni spent more than 20 years in Cineca (an Italian supercomputing center) dealing mainly with support of user communities and EU initiatives. Cavazzoni has a PhD in physics from the SISSA/ISAS international schools. He is currently a member of the ETP4HPC steering board, and Leonardo’s representative in the European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge, and Cloud.
Cavazzoni has collaborated with different user communities to enable applications on massively parallel HPC systems and innovative architecture solutions. He authored and co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, published in the likes of Science, Physical Review Letters, Nature Materials, and many others.
