Acting Director, CIS and Cyber Defence EU Military Staff, EU External Action Service, Austria
During his military career in the Austrian Armed Forces, Colonel Christian Wagner gained experience in the areas of Electronic Warfare, Network Enabled Capabilities, CIS and Cyber Defence in both the Air - and Land Forces. He worked as a Senior Officer specialist for CIS security and Cyber Defence and as deputy head of the ICT planning department at the Austrian Ministry of Defence. He joined the EUMS in May 2020 as Head of the CIS and Cyber Defence Policy and Requirements Branch and has been Acting Director since June 2024. At the international level, he was the Austrian national representative in several EDA project teams, on the NATO C3Board and Chairman of the NATO FMN Multinational CIS Security Management Authority (MCSMA) and deployed in the CSDP EUNAVOR MED Operation SOPHIA.
